The documentary film "The Challenge" (التحدي), prepared and directed by Mr. Rêber Rusdi, has won first prize at the festival.
Representing the University of Duhok's College of Humanities, the film participated in the festival held in Sharjah, UAE. More than 22 Arab universities took part in the competition, submitting a total of 66 films. Out of all submissions, "The Challenge" was ranked first in the documentary film category.
The film tells the story of a refugee with special needs who possesses immense willpower. He expresses his suffering through art, creating powerful paintings with his feet. The film conveys a humanitarian message and highlights the importance of coexistence.
It is worth mentioning that the film's delegation is currently in Sharjah, UAE. The delegation consists of Dr. Mizgîn Mohammed Hassan, Dean of the College of Humanities; Dr. Mohammed Sabri, the film's supervisor; and Rêber Rusdi, the film's writer and director.
