Students Plant an Olive Tree as a Mark of Respect for Their University
Fourth-year students of the Sociology Department, as they approach graduation, mark the end of their university journey by planting an olive tree in the garden of the College of Humanities. This is their way of showing appreciation for the university where they spent four important years of their education.
Besides its environmental value, this activity also has social, cultural, and economic meanings.
* Socially, planting trees helps students feel more responsible and encourages teamwork and community participation.
* Culturally, it raises awareness about the importance of protecting the environment among educated young people.
* Economically, agriculture has long been an important source of income in Kurdistan, and planting trees can also inspire future opportunities in this field.
The University sincerely thanks all students for this meaningful initiative and hopes their future will be as strong, green, and productive as the olive tree.
Special thanks to the fourth-year student Zana Adnan Mohammed, who personally took responsibility for providing this year’s olive saplings.
