Message

The message of the Department of Peace and Human Rights Studies is to contribute to the evolving sectors of society and the administration as well, and to instill in students an appreciation of peace building skills and conflict resolution professionalism, along with the most basics of human rights. The Department of Peace and Human Rights Studies offer students an opportunity to engage their acquired theoretical and practical skills in developing peaceful practices to resolve conflicts and disputes, which will help the public to create and maintain a stable society.

Vision

The Department of Peace and Human Rights Studies seeks to be a distinguished, developed and academic pioneer in the region, Iraq and the whole Middle East. It works to produce qualified graduates that can work effectively within government, NGOs, corporations and the private sector. The Department works on producing qualified graduates that can cope with the existing shortage of qualified teachers to teach human rights and the other related subjects at the secondary and high schools of the Kurdistan Region.

Objectives

The department aims to have qualified and trained graduates with high efficiency which will enable them to work effectively in various fields, environments and sectors in ways that will enhance and maintain the stability and co-existence of the region. In the meantime, the department aims to provide the public and private institutions, including the schools, with graduates who have the required qualification in the field of human rights.
