Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall Rosenberg
This seminar explores the core concepts of Marshall Rosenberg's book, "Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life," which serves as a foundational reference for building personal and social peace. The seminar focuses on replacing the language of blame and criticism, known as "Jackal language," with a language rooted in compassion and clarity, known as "Giraffe language". This is achieved by applying the four-component NVC model, which begins with objective observation, followed by identifying feelings, recognizing underlying needs, and concluding with clear, positive requests. Furthermore, the seminar highlights the importance of self-compassion and empathically receiving others' messages to understand their unmet needs, with the ultimate goal of fostering honest human relationships that allow everyone's needs to be met peacefully and sustainably.
