Providing Medical Supplies for Peshmerga Forces During the Kurdish Revolution
Providing Healthcare Necessities for the Peshmerga During the Kurdish Revolution:
The health situation in Kurdistan during the monarchical era (1921-1958) was poor, and after the outbreak of the September Revolution, the situation worsened as few doctors were willing to join the revolution. Only a small number joined following the coup of February 18, 1963, such as doctors Mahmoud Osman, Ahmed Shali, and others. However, the revolution benefited greatly from the experience of paramedics (wound dressers) who supported the movement. Furthermore, obtaining medicine was extremely difficult at that time, and many liberated areas lacked hospitals, leading to treatments being conducted in caves.
